Nasser Lubay

"My art is a new semi-abstraction created through psychedelic processes but as I explore my skills and sensibilities, I am interested in the melding of traditional aesthetics and contemporary visual outcomes. I allow my mind to wander freely and unceasingly, even to get lost in the moment, flux of imagination and small epiphanies until they produce visual marks that yield their own resonance and sense of meaning". Nasser Lubay is a visual artist based in Manila, Philippines. Was born in 1982 in Candelaria, Quezon. In 2009 he won 2nd Place in the Celeste International Art Prize in Berlin, Germany. He was chosen as one of the Young Ambassadors of Jollibee representing the arts and was one fifty artists highlighted in the 2010 Animamix Biennale. He was invited to Ondarte International Artist Residency in Akumal, Mexico. He was also shortlisted in Celeste 2010 Digital Graphics and a finalist in Kuala Lumpur Design Week 2009. His art is an abstraction of captured moments fused in a mixed of pop, psychedelic, surreal, and fantasies. His visual composition starts from a flow in his hand forging into biotic, organic and geometric outcomes. He meticulously strokes his vivid colors with a dimensional effect on the artworks.
