Ongere Elisha

I started selling paintings in 1991 at Gallery Watatu in Nairobi. I was influenced by desire to do Semi abstract art after I had visited the gallery. The owner, Ruth Schaffner stressed a lot to artist about originality, competence and technical skills to achieve good works. All the paintings she collected from me were sold. I sold more at National Museum's Art Gallery, French Cultural Centre Nairobi, German Embassy, Italian Cultural Centre, African Heritage Gallery Nairobi, USA, Japan, Germany, Ireland, China, etc. I like working on Social and Environmental issues. I like painting in Acrylics and oil paints. I like doing paintings that are truly African in style.
