Sandro Cocco (1973), studied Painting at the Karel de Grote Hogeschool in Antwerp (1994-1998). After studying classical themes like model, still life, interiors by observation with oil painting, watercolours and acrylics, he discovered blind drawing during model class. Soon he started making abstract 'Amorphous' work using the technique of 'écriture automatique' (automatic writing). This resulted in sculptures, installations and video works. In november 2005 after a visit to a friend he started his series 'Imaginary Rooms' in which he uses for the first time figurative elements.
